Because what’s gone still shapes us.
Til it’s Gone is an audio documentary that tells the stories of what we’ve lost and how it’s changed us through the voices of people from around the world.
These are the stories of our hidden losses, whether it’s a place, an object, a freedom, an identity, an ability, a dream, an opportunity, or a state of being — anything that leaves lack behind it. We carry these losses within us, often buried, but still affecting us deeply.
But sharing our losses can help to dissipate their power. By bringing the losses of many people from a wide range of countries into one story, I hope to create a space for us all to see that loss is universal.
Because it’s time.
The last two years have been a time of exceptional collective loss, as the pandemic has disrupted life around the world. So much has been lost, that loss itself has become a focus of our thoughts.
In this documentary people from all over the world will tell us their losses — not just from the pandemic, but anything they have lost at any point in their lives — so we can acknowledge those losses, grieve for them, and move forward together.
