Riding along one set towards the terminus, we can be aware of those other lines, alongside us, on which we might have traveled — on which we might yet travel if only we had the strength to change.” - Lawrence Durrell
I’ve long loved this quote and the idea that our possible lives are there alongside our current life, like ghost trains journeying into different futures. But for me, the best part of this idea is Durrell’s suggestion that if we are brave enough, we can jump trains to a different version of ourselves at any time.
