Beyond the Dark (5’)

Program Notes:

Beyond the Dark is partly based on the poem Radium by Louise Glück. Both works parallel the passing of the seasons with the passing of a lifetime, and the sensation that time seems to speed up as we get closer and closer to “the abyss.” But in Beyond the Dark, I imagined that rather than a fall into darkness, dying is more like snow falling between the trees and glittering in the sun until it disappears.
